Memorial Day Weekend

We went to St. George for Memorial Day with some friends and had such a great time. All these pictures are compliments of Christy Gunnell and her impressive photographing skills.

We went to Zions on Saturday and the weather was perfect for hiking. It doesn't get any better than this!

Boston LOVED it and if we took more than a 2 minute break he would start yelling at us to keep moving so he helped us keep up the momentum.

One of the hikes we did was to the Emerald Pools and this was how Mark and Boston enjoyed themselves when we finally made it to the top. I had to just look away. Christy snapped this amazing shot though of Boston mid-air.

Chicks rule (or at least that's what my hat says).

Under a waterfall.

On memorial day we broke into the tennis courts at Rachel's alma mater because all the other courts in town were packed and we were desperate to play. Then we spent the afternoon cooling off at the pool while the boys entertained us with some crazy high dive competitions.

I'm glad Christy captured us assiting Boston at breaking and entering for the first time ... what a precious moment.

Boston's first plane ride.

Boston did pretty well on the plane but he got sick of being held and restricted to a small little space. He loved looking out the window though and was happiest when he had his own seat to sit in.

He was so helpful he even carried his own diaper bag.

This was the welcome home sign Mark made us! Boston really missed his daddy and so did I.

Hawaii Pictures

Loving the Ocean! View from our Hotel Balcony! These boys were beat after a long day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Boston's Hawaii souvenier ... a stuffed turtle. I love the PCC! The Arizona Memorial at Pear Harbor. Two cool dudes! I miss the gorgeous sunsets. Boston LOVED the pool and has no fear of water which makes me a little nervous because he would try and climb out of his pool floatie and I dunked him a few times and he thought it was so thrilling.

This video highlights his fearlessness of water.

We're Back!

I don't have any pictures to post yet because they are all saved on my mom's laptop but I will post some soon. We had such a great time! Surprising my mom was the best part ... I flew to San Fransisco where we both had our layovers (my dad had planned it that we would meet there and then fly to Hawaii together) and so when I got there I went to the terminal where our next flight was going to leave from and found my mom reading. I walked over and said "can we sit by you" ... she looked up and went crazy when she saw us. She was in shock for the next few days ... especially once she realized we had been planning it for two months and that my dad was in on it. We had such a great time and thanks to my parents help it was actually a really relaxing vacation ... I didn't know that was possible with a baby. The question that kept running through my mind was "how can I make this lifestyle permanent" ... I still don't know yet. We really missed Mark though so it was exciting to be back together again. Boston is still on Hawaii time which has been funny ... this is what his schedule has been like the past two days.

11am: wake up
1-3pm: nap
6-8pm: nap
10pm: bedtime

The only problem is the first day we were home Mark slept through his class because we are so used to Boston waking us up by 8am every morning. We're slowly getting him re-adjusted though. We can't wait to take Mark there someday!

Living it up.

Boston and I are in Hawaii right now! We surprised my mom and flew out to spend time with her over mothers day. We have been having so much fun with my parents but we are also missing Mark. We'll be home Thursday and I'll post more pictures then. It is so gorgeous here! I will really miss the oceanview from our hotel balcony.

Our 9 month Old...

Well I feel like I'm practically introducing you to a new child because Boston at 9 months is very different then he was just a few short weeks ago. Some of his changes:

1. He's reached the 20 lb. mark and is 2 1/2 ft. long so his legs hang out of his carseat. Our Dr. said that even though he's not a year ... he's the size of an average 1 year old and he's ready to be turned around so we'll be getting a new car seat soon!

2. He's crawling now ... all though his preferred method of traveling is still steamrolling or getting up on his hands and knees and then lunging formard and then repearting the process... kind of like a worm. He's so funny to watch.

3. He LOVES standing and does it as much as possible. His balance is getting really good.

4. He also LOVES books. ALL books and will sit and flip the pages on his own.

5. He has gotten very curious which means he's getting into everything and is starting to get mad at us if we take anythign away.

6. He eats a lot more finger foods now and loves making a mess.

7. He has 3 teeth and 3 more that are really close to breaking through.

8. The biggest change though is that he wants his independence ... and he's willing to fight for it! I thought that wasn't suposed to happen until they were 2!
