Last week we thought it would be fun to get out so we went and spent the day up in Salt Lake. We walked around temple square and saw a new exhibit they had on the family which was really awesome and then went and saw the Joseph Smith movie. Boston pretty much slept through the entire afternoon. Then we met up with my brother Rick (who lives in Sandy) and his girlfriend Julie and had dinner together at the Olive Garden. Afterwords we went over to the Mayan resturaunt for desert. We didn't want to eat dinner there because there food isn't very good but the atmosphere there is so fun. Turns out their deserts aren't fabulous either but they had an amazing fire dancer and we got to see some really cool dives so it was still definetly worth the trip.

Boston's first week home!

Coming home from the hospital.
His first picture with his eyes open.
Boston's first of many trips to Red Lobster. Look his hat is covering his eyes ... we didn't even notice that until we looked at the picture.

He likes to hold his pacifier in himself.
He has so many cute sleeping positions ... this one is my favorite and from this angle you can see that he has his daddy's ears.
He just melts in Mark's arms. Sorry the picture is sideways.
helping daddy with his homework
Boston's first day at church ... my mom made the adorable outfit for him.
He slept through the entire thing.

He loves his grandma and grandpa.

My parents drove up from California the day Boston was born so here are some pictures of them together.

Any resemblence?...
My brother Rick and his girlfriend Julie. I think Boston looks a lot like Rick.

Cuddle time is the best and Boston loves to cuddle ... at least for now so I'm taking advantage of that.

He's finally here!!
Boston Russell Simonsen was born at 7:51am on 7/31. 8lbs 3 oz and 20 in. long. Mark said "he looks like a german body builder" and I thought "he looks like my brother!" It's so funny to see him next to other babies in the nursery because then he really looks huge. I can't believe he fit inside me ... he must have really been smashed. We are so grateful that he's perfectly healthy and such a sweet boy. He's been so easy to sooth and loves his daddy's voice. We are loving being parents and are grateful for the support of our friends and family. As you can see below Boston has had many visitors. It's fun to see him with each family member and see what features they share so I couldn't leave any of them out. I hope all the pictures make up for the delayed post.

Kangen Water
There is a class tonight on Kangen Water here in the Provo riverbottoms and I'm dragging Mark to it. It should be good, they do all these incredible demos. Check out their website they have some of their demos on it. I think they do a class once a month.

My latest health obsession...

I read a lot of health books and lately I've become very fascinated in balanicing our bodies pH because I've found it to be a re-occuring theme in so many of the books I read. They've actually done studies that have shown that diseases (including cancer) cannot thrive in an alkaline environment. So can preventing and curing diseases be as simple as altering our bodies pH?... and how can we create an alkaline environment in our bodies when so many things are contributing to it's acidic nature?... The answer has kind of fallen into my lap and I'm so excited about it!!
I introduce you to Kangen Water
Kangen Water is created through a filter that attatches to your faucet and in goes nasty tap water which is littered with garbage and out comes ionized alkaline water which will change your life! It has been used in hospitals in Japan for centuries to treat diseases and restore health and now it is used widely to prevent disease and is found in 1 in 5 households in Japan. They know what they're doing!! I find it ironic that we pride ourselves in having the "best" and most "advanced" healthcare in the world and yet we have one of the lowest life expectancies of any developed country. We're obviously missing something!
How Ionized Alkaline Water Assists The Body in Regaining and Maintaining Health and Vitality:
* DETOXIFICATION Ionized Alkaline Water is more affective at delivering nutrients to our cells and flushing toxins and acidic waste from our bodies so it acts as a powerful antioxidant.
* HYDRATION - during ionization the water is formed into microclusters that are more easily absorbed at the cellular level thus it's "super hydrating" to your body.
* OXYGENATION Ionized Alkaline Water makes more oxygen available to your cells than distilled, reverse osmosis, filtered only, bottled or tap water. Disease doesn't thrive in an oxygenated body!!!!
* ALKALIZE YOUR BODY PH - Alkaline Ionized Water will help to optimize your body's pH. You could try to achieve an alkaline state with foods but alkaline water will turbo charge your efforts. As a result, it enables your body to better absorb and utilize nutrients, minerals and supplements.
* ENHANCE YOUR IMMUNE RESPONSE - All of the above allow your immune system to respond more appropriately and rapidly to it's many daily challenges.
