First adventure sledding...

We went sledding up in Salt Lake wtih my brother Zack, his girlfriend Jess and her family that is visiting from Souther California. We had a great time!
Boston and Zack.

Boston and Jessica.
My one and only daring run of the day.
Jessica's neice was so funny she just wanted to get up really close to Boston and stare at him. They did this for a few minutes without saying anything ... it was really funny.

Boson's first time down the hill.

Zack and Boston take everyone out.

Christmas Morning...

I wanted to post these pictures/videos right away for my parents who didn't get to share Christmas morning with us. It was fun to celebrate Christmas morning with a one-year-old this year! We loved that Boston let us sleep in until 9am!! It was the best Christmas present he could give us ... sleeping in late is something I really miss about life before kids but most things including Christmas morning is so much better with kids!
Doesn't he look thrilled ... haha! He really did love it but it looks like he's being forced to sit on it in this picture. The video does a much better job capturing the moment.

Here's to hoping Boston gets Mark's artistic abilities and not mine.

Re-cap of 2009:

Mark started his second year of graduate school at BYU and we are looking forward to him graduating in April! He will be doing Officer and Chaplain trainings for the Navy this summer and then starting a year-long internship at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake. Boston is growing like a weed and the year was full of firsts for him including his first birthday in July. He is now walking and talking up a storm and we are loving all the smiles and laughter he adds to our home. He has made the transition to parenthood so easy for us and we’re excited to be expecting another baby boy at the beginning of March. Natasha is still working part-time while Mark gets to be a part-time stay-at-home-dad and Boston loves getting to spend so much time with his daddy. We are grateful for all the love and encouragement we receive from our friends and family and hope that you are all doing well.

Peace and love, The Simonsens

I Love/Hate KSL...

Does anyone else hate KSL as much as they love it?...

Exhibit A: I had been looking for something to put all the baby's clothes/stuff in and was excited when I found this beauty on KSL for only $15! I called right away and told them I could come in the morning to pick it up then in the morning when I called for directions they said someone else was already on their way?!!... argh! Then about an hour later they called me back and said that the people that came weren't able to fit it in their car so if I still wanted it I could have it. Yay! It was so hideous Mark wanted to talk me out of getting it but I thought it had potential. Under all the sticky notes it was covered in marker, crayons and stickers but after a good scrub down with a magic eraser (I love those!) and replacing the nasty plastic blue handles I think it turned out pretty good.

I asked them if they had any other kids stuff for sale because they were moving and they said we could go through a huge pile of toys there were going to give to DI and we found a lot of great Christmas presents for Boston that they gave us for free!... including an adorable wooden rocking horse. The cabinet ended up working great for clothes because of the left side it has a hanging rod and more shelves. I love having the babies stuff organized.

I was so excited when I found this sofa and chair on KSL for only $350!! I called right away and told them I wanted them and set a date and time to come pick them up. Then the day before I went to pick them up they said they changed their mind and decided they weren't going to sell them anymore and that they were just going to use them in their basement instead!! As Mark will attest to I was overly dramatic and upset about it and vowed to never use KSL again. Sometimes it seems like more time and energy then it's worth to find a great deal. I still keep waiting for them to call me back and tell me I can have them after all...

Decorating Sugar Cookies...

This week we invited Boston's cousins over to make sugar cookies with us. Boston loved making the cookie dough and playing with all the kitchen utensils. Kennedy loved rolling out the dough and decorating the cookies and Cameron was the perfect taste tester of his sister's creations.

Right as we were finishing up my mom showed up so the kids got to chase her dog around.

We love having cousins so close by.

They tied the knot...

Mark's brother Brandon got married last month and we are so happy for him and his beautiful bride Jess. It was a very joyous occasion for our family.

Boston and his cousin Kennedy trying to entertain themselves while we wait for Brandon and Jess to come out of the temple. They have so much fun together.

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas...

We put up our Christmas decorations this week and then this morning it snowed for the first time so now it's starting to really feel like the Christmas season! We were so excited to see the snow because we have been anxious to let Boston experience it so we ate breakfast fast and then headed outside to let him take it all in.
